Took this in the main town square of Krakow, Poland. It was evening and the sun was going down, I set up to take the shot of the silhouetted statue and skyline. I took the shot, but something made me take another, just then something startled the birds roosting on the building. I quickly took another without changing any settings on the camera. I could tell right away from the LCD screen that this was a winner. I think this is possibly the best photo of my holiday.
By the way the keener eyed among you may notice there is a bird still perched on the head of the statue! The statue is of poet Adam Mickiewicz and the building is the Cloth Hall in the centre of the square. Daily DeviationGiven 2004-09-08Krakow - Poetry in motion by *richardspence |

I've used the phrase 'postcard photography' in the past in a negative connotation, but this would work beautifully in such a context. Fantastic job.

The angle is interesting, and really effective, I love the silhouette of the statue of the man, or person? It really says something, in a way that perhaps all life is gone, except for the odd birds.. Sorry if my reply was a little weird, but this is an amazing piece.
